TNG Digital Non-Independent Non-Executive Director
Lum Joy Deng was appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of TNG Digital on 30 August 2023. She currently serves as the Chief Corporate Development Officer of Touch ‘n Go, responsible for planning and redefining new business model with a heavier focus on technology and transportation ecosystem enablement, drive new business opportunities with key strategic partners with a focus on optimising long term profitability, leading all fundraising and M&A exercises while overseeing key investments for Touch ‘n Go Group. Simultaneously, she is also responsible in overseeing all corporate development and investment related functions for CIMB Group’s consumer and digital banking franchise, including CIMB’s digital banks in Vietnam and Philippines.
Joy has spent the last 18 years in CIMB Group, and prior to her existing roles, she was formerly Head of Investments at the Group Ventures and Partnerships division of CIMB Group, where she was leading all CIMB Group’s efforts in originating, executing and managing a portfolio of assets comprising proprietary equity investments both public and private markets, private equity fund management businesses, venturing through selective strategic investments and joint-ventures with a focus on platform-based businesses and financial technology.
She brings with her extensive transactional experience after having spent 10 years in Investment Banking and Corporate Finance within CIMB Group. She was responsible for advising capital market-related transactions in the areas of cross-border M&As, IPOs, financial valuation, fundraising and corporate restructuring for clients across Asia Pacific.
She continues to serve as an active member of the Investment Committee at various private equity funds managed by CIMB Group. She graduated with Honours in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nottingham, England and has completed executive leadership and advanced management programs at INSEAD.
