K Raman was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of TNG Digital Sdn. Bhd. on 12 October 2022.

On 1 July 2024, K Raman steps down from his role as the Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia after an impressive nine-year tenure overseeing the team at Microsoft Malaysia. As the Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia, he supervised nearly 200 staff members and 2,000 partners from Microsoft, aiding customers in advancing their digital transformation efforts during a period when the nation is adopting AI, cloud, mobile, and big data technologies.

Raman is also a member of the Asia Pacific leadership team and is dedicated to making Microsoft Malaysia the nation’s trusted digital transformation partner through its trusted cloud platforms and productivity suites.

With 36 years of experience in the IT sector, and leadership and management experience spanning across the Asia Pacific markets, Raman is an industry veteran, well-recognised and respected by peers. Prior to joining Microsoft Malaysia, Raman was the Regional Managing Director for Oracle Corporation, overseeing the ASEAN and South Asia Growth Economies, which comprises a portfolio of 17 countries. He also served as Country Manager at EMC Computer System, following 15 successful years at Hewlett-Packard where he was last in charge of the Telco business for the Asia Pacific region.

With COVID-19 accelerating the need for Malaysia to embrace digital, Raman has been leading his team to work hand-in-hand with the public and private sectors, in support of the nation’s business recovery and resiliency efforts while empowering the nation’s inclusive digital economy through Microsoft’s Bersama Malaysia initiative.

Under Raman’s leadership, Microsoft Malaysia was crowned Top Sub for Emerging Medium Countries in 2019, in recognition of the business’ exceptional performance in Malaysia. Raman has also been recognised by Astro Ulagam as an advocate in the Indian Community who champions emerging digital technologies in Malaysia.

Passionate about the importance of education and the role of technology in it, Raman was an adjunct professor at Taylor’s University School of Computer Science & Engineering, Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) as well as the Azman Hashim International Business School (AHIBS) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Raman is also an Independent Non-Executive Director for PEOPLElogy Bhd.

Raman graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya. Outside of work, Raman enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. His interests also include scuba diving, golf and traveling.
